History of Tissue Paper how it all started?

To understand the history there should be a basic understanding of how paper was invented and what goes into making paper, in a nut shell, paper is made from compressing of thin cellulose fibers,   and then made to dry to the right thinness on a spinning wheel known as a yankee.

Originally tissue paper was invented for toilet use, thus called toilet paper, historically evidence points at both the Egyptian “papyrus”  and the Chinese “amate”  who was presumable a eunuch  in the invention of paper.

However as per historically documents Chinese were the first to use paper for hygiene use like toilet or as napkins  back in 5th century AD, but it took over 100 of years for it to turn into a daily use product available in hotels.

Initially toilet paper was made from hemp and aloe vera.  Similarly to Wright brothers, toilet paper was popularized by two brothers in 1890 and that’s were mass production of the product began.

Finally the result of our ancestors handwork and the rich history as we reflect on,  has allowed us to enjoy something we look upon as a daily commodity like toilet paper, facial tissue, kitchen rolls, napkins  and  their achievements  has made life effortless for us albeit at the price of  the environment.
